Kilkenney's is no longer... it is now called Breakwall. The sign says that they now serve "Surf BBQ." I don't know what that is, but it sounds yummy! They weren't open last night, but we peeked in & it looks really pretty inside! The bar will be featured on the Spike TV show Bar Rescue, but I don't know when it will air. I liked the old Kilkenney's, mostly due to the location... so I look forward to see what Breakwall has in store!

.., We hit Redondo Beach recently & walked around Fisherman's Wharf checking out the local seafood venue & bars. It was pretty happening for a Tuesday night. After watching the sunset we hit Old Tony's for a drink & left soon after arriving due to poor service. I remembered one of my favorite Southern California bands Inhale played some gigs here @ Kilkenny's a few times so I suggested that to Diane after leaving Tony's. We walk in & it was a few locals already hammered dancing to the classic rock the jukebox was dishing out. The set up is pretty sweet, not too big but I loved it. Decent prices & a nice view of the beach too. First time I had a Black Butte Porter & man that was pretty frikn' tasty. They have a stage & alot of bands come thru including their "Flashback Fridays" & reggae nights quite often. I want to come back & catch a show soon & see how it is on a busy night. I dug it though. cheers!

We stumbled into Kilkenny's Irish Pub after the Rock Out Elite event downstairs at Johnny's Dive Bar. Okay....so maybe it was after we visited an all dentist band and a had a couple of drinks at Tony's, but you know what I mean, right? We were drunk and hungry....drungry if you will. We were escorted to a booth in the back corner (what? like we were gonna be disruptive?!). We very much appreciated the privacy back there, but it was quite far from the ladies room...(quick tip, sit the drunks next to the bathroom!). We ordered random crap, which included fish and chips, chicken quesadillas, beer and subsequently water....lots of water. I really loved both entrees, it was very very good. However I was very very intoxicated. At the end of the evening and by "end" I mean, "what made us leave" was this heavy metal band that came out of no where and were dressed as Rastafarians. The music changed the vibe of the place real quick from laid back Irish pub to hell. Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Kilkenny's and plan to return at the beginning of the evening rather than the very end.

. __ o __/ \ / | | _ Y_ _/ | _ | |_| I am a cheap lush, it turns out. One drink and I'm tipsy enough to know that I should question my judgement. One Happy Hour Margarita at Kilkenny's Irish Pub & Restaurant and I write a glowing review; so even though I take my Margarita on the rocks with no salt, you probably should take this one with a grain of salt. The cocktails were triple the size I expected and at least double the strength. My friend kept saying how strong his drink was, which was evidenced by the fact that he called our petite sexy waitress "dude". All appetizers, except shellfish, are 1/2 off until 7 PM. I expected small portions (those are appetizers, after all), but the plate of sliders for $5.00 consisted of 4! mini-burgers with grilled onions and delicious fries. That alone would be dinner. We also ordered a chicken quesadilla, also $5.00 during HH, that came with real guacamole but a subpar salsa; but we were too stuffed, having had 4 mini-burgers each, to evaluate it fairly. (Not to mention the triple-size Margarita that by that time was having its way with me.) The inside looks like a mix of a truck stop and an old sports bar, but the sunset view of the ocean through floor to ceiling windows is so spectacular and the drinks are so strong that somehow everything just works out fine.

During my bike rides from Torrance to SaMo, I always saw the HH sign for Kilkenny's and wondered about the food. The nighttime bar scene here isn't my cup of tea but the food intrigued me. A friend of mine wanted Happy Hour at a sushi place, but I wasn't feeling fishy so we ended up at Kilkenny's. The prices during HH are reasonable. $3 wells, $3 drafts (if I remember correctly), and half off all appetizers except those that begin and end with seafood. The friend ordered a margarita and I opted for Cranberry and Vodka. I wasn't expecting to be blown away by the strength of my drink, but I was. The strength and the size actuallyhttp://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/AFgpN3PVkgJuA2cSRc38Hg?select=d-mVdf-1t9BZINVoJvESkA. Country strong in potency. Props to the waitress who admitted that her hand was a bit heavy on the alcohol. $3 is a steal. The Angus Beef sliders were good, but the thing that compels me to give Kilkenny's 4 stars is the price: $5http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/AFgpN3PVkgJuA2cSRc38Hg?select=HpAf-xmhtOuvZaHJeP4gZA Skip the quesadillas. Nothing here worth mentioning. The price for 2 well drinks, 2 slider orders, and quesadillas: $23 with tax. Happy Hour M-F from 3 to 7 at a cool place with ocean views.

Okay, so its on a touristy, price inflated redondo beach pier, but Kilkennys is a great place to catch happy hour and enjoy some great beer. After a long day on the beach we decided to grab a crab, not expecting the korean owned restaurants to charge over $40 dollars for a dungeness. I mean Ranch 99 is only 10 miles away, and i believe its $4.99/lb. Anyways, we saw a happy hour sign and $10 pitchers all day and decided to give it a shot. All appetizers were $5 and we ordered the buffalo wings, kobe sliders and baked potato skins. all three were delicious, but what topped it off was the vast array of tvs showing every spot possible and the fact that each booth had a personal tv!!! This would be the perfect place to catch a game after a days work or long day on the beach. They also have bands and comedians come in on weeknights and we were fortunate to catch Bob Oshak, whos hilarious.

How can you not like $2.00 pints of Heineken, Red Trolley, New Castle, Guinness, Red Stripe, Harp, Murphy's, etc. And yes I said "pint". A proper pint at that, none of those sissy 12oz. so called "pints". If you make it to Kilkenny's during happy hour that is just what you will find. Pint after pint of delicious creamy beer with dozens of flat screens showing all of the local games. I've never seen this place completely packed so there is always a place to sit & drink (or eat if you're into that sort of thing......but if you are, then the bangers & mash and the nachos are excellent) Also, if it matters to you, all the waitress's are cute and have D-cups. I'm just saying. Good Times

I saw this place on the pier for a while - I mountain bike a lot. Well, one day, I went there cuz they said "Two for one Mimosa's" on sunday - Yum! I like Mimosa's. Well, I was just plain suprised with the place - OMG Flatty's all over the wall, and some in the booths too - showing all the sports... please... how great is that for me! The drinks are strong - really good. Food is pretty good too. They have lots of specials on certain days, and bands at nites. The cover kinda blows at night - but I guess people pay it. My lil party bunch make it there semi often - More so on weekends. It is a good hang out, with good servers - and on the south side there is a view of all the inlanders and tourists on the beach. I have no complaints about this place so far!
